Spirit Of The Pacific Islands
Spirit Of The Pacific Islands is based in Hamilton, OH. Our goal has been to share the beauty of the Pacific Islands through the graceful dances of Hula, Tahitian, Samoan and Maori. Besides having regularly scheduled classes, we strive to help perpetuate the rich culture of the Pacific Islands people through our performances for the general public, schools/ universities/ colleges, and private companies throughout the year, including educational workshops and other multi-cultural events fairs and festivals.
Ka Pa Hula Napuakamahinaamekala (Flowers of the Moon and Sun) comprises both men and women, young and old, ranging from 8 to 80 years of age. Our performing group travels throughout Ohio, Kentucky, Indiana, Tennessee, Georgia and West Virginia highlighting hula in its many aspects. We can be contacted through our website: www.spiritofthepacificislands.com or call: 513-253-5030 for more information. The dancers will be performing the Fire Dances of Samoa and New Zealand on Friday, October 5th ~ 8:45-9:15 PM and Saturday, October 6th ~ 3:30-4:30 PM showcasing the dances of Hawaii and Tahiti. We will also have a booth with custom, hand-crafted items and baked goods.
Charity Luau benefits the HONOR FLIGHT NETWORK, a non-profit organization created solely to honor America’s veterans for all their sacrifices. They transport our heroes to Washington, D.C. to visit and reflect at their memorials. Top priority is given to the senior veterans – World War II survivors, along with those other veterans who may be terminally ill. The flights and tours that Honor Flight Network provides WWII and terminally ill veterans are absolutely FREE.
